Farm animal day...

Today Joe and I and Stetson got to go to Mountain View Elementary in Brigham for their farm animal day. We took two little pigs for the kids to pet and see.

Joe really didn't know what he was in for and thought it would be like a petting zoo type thing where the kids would come in and take a looksie and maybe ask a ? or two and then leave....WRONG...... We got there and he realized that there would be 5 sessions of classes that would come in for 40 min each. So we had to fill up 40 mins worth of talking to the kids about pig facts, 5 TIMES!!!!! Yikes... it turned out to be great fun and the kids were alot of fun to see all their different reactions. Especially when we told them that ham was a pigs butt.... "I'm never eating a ham sandwich again" is what we heard the most. Then there was the occasional animal lover that insisted we shouldn't kill them because they are soooooooo cute....ugh.

I am so proud of my two guys, they did a great job!!!!

Call from home.

I went to St. George for a little R&R on Monday and on Wednesday night i get this call from Ru saying that Levi hurt his arm on gmas tramp and he is crying. So I ask the logical ? "where is your dad?" Ruger replies that he doesn't know and that they called me first. I try to console levi but its not working so i realize it must be pretty bad. Really what can i do from that far away....

He ended up with a broken arm....right up near the elbow, he is such a tuffy.

He has it in a sling right now and we go Tuesday to see what we need to do next. He is secretly hoping for an orange cast.

He has been on some good meds, but they wind him higher than a kite. He runs around like the enegizer bunny, going and going and going. Ild much rather hear him whine about the pain, but im not that mean......

Welcome home mom.....

And then....

Ruger and Stets have gone to Boy Scout camp on an over nighter. And I take Levi to a dance recital for my niece and when i get home Joe walks in and hands me this....just hands it to me, not a word like I'm just suppose to take it and and do what ever I need to do. DUHHH!!!! BLOOD-BOY SCOUT SHIRT!! I swear I could have killed him.... I had to ask every ? nothing was volunteered.

Me "Whose shirt?"

Joe "Rugers."

Me "What happened?"

Joe "Got hit in the head with a rock." (I'm boiling!!)

Me "What? What happened? Is he Ok? Does need to go to the hospital? How big is the cut?"

Joe " Got hit in the head with a rock. Just a little hole." "Can you soak this in cold water?"

WHAT THE HECK!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! (I dont know what to say that i won't regret later about how furious i am at him!!) Does this not look like a massacer just happened at boy scout camp????

WOW!!

Wow, I had to dig this one out of the archives!! This is my favorite family picture ever..(mostly because it shows all four kids, and I look thin) I had to scan it (I finally learned to scan, so watch out they'll be lots of oldies but goodies) then crop it, then try to fit it in the blog space. SO its not the best but good enough for this gal.
A song comes to mind as I look at this, its by Trace Adkins

It goes like this

She was staring out the window of their SUV
Complaining, saying "I can't wait to turn 18"
She said "I'll make my own money, and I'll make my own rules"
Mamma put the car in park out there in front of the school
Then she kissed her head and said "I was just like you"

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

Before she knows it she's a brand new bride
In a one-bedroom apartment, and her daddy stops by
He tells her,"It's a nice place."
She says "It'll do for now."
Starts talking about babies and buying a house
Daddy shakes his head and says, "Baby, just slow down"

Chorus

Five years later there's a plumber workin' on the water heater
Dog's barkin', phone's ringing,
One kids cryin, one kids screamin
And she keeps apologizin'
He says "They don't bother me.
I've got two babies of my own.
Ones 36, ones 23
Huh, it's hard to believe, but....

chorus

(If i ever get the darn music thing to work i'll put it on that but till then...)

Anyway, I do miss it and I do want it back, but I do realize that my kids will only be the age they are now, once and I sure better enjoy it....
